Actions Against the Police
Christian Khan continues to handle the largest and most high profile cases against the police. Claimants come to Christian Khan because we have a 20 year track record of winning justice for our clients. Unlike others we don't dabble in this work - we have made a long term commitment to act for those whose voices many would rather were not heard. We don't just win cases, we also try to change the law to benefit others.
In Osman v. UK, Wilson v. Commissioner of Police for Metropolis and Akenzua v. Commissioner of Police for Metropolis, the Claimants won their case and also set a new precedent or changed the law to help others obtain justice.
We continue to lead the field in this difficult area of law. We have acted on many death in custody cases and have done our utmost to find out the true facts for the bereaved.
For injured parties we don't simply obtain compensation - we make ourselves fully involved in the complaints process and guide you through the bureaucracy from the first complaint meeting right up to judicial review if necessary.
Our specialist team is well versed in defendant's tactics and we have a team with training and confidence who can take on and win these cases.
Typical claims are for False imprisonment, Assault and Battery, Malicious Prosecution and Unlawful arrest.
The department is supervised by Louise Christian. Sarah McSherry and Kulvinder Gill have built up a substantial caseload since joining the department.
If you submit a request for assistance thorugh the website please complete all of the boxes. Due to high demand we are unable to respond to enquiries that are not completed fully.
