Mental health solicitors, Christian Khan, London UK. Specialists in mental health law including mental health review tribunals, sectioning & human rights.

Mental Health

Mental illness affects one in three people at some stage of their lives.

The most drastic action that can happen is that a person loses their liberty and is detained in hospital. Their rights are taken away from them.

All of their decisions and choices are limited to what is allowed by the RMO - Responsible Medical Officer.

Our lawyers ensure that the Responsible Medical Officer carefully considers our Clients' human rights and the rights of the rest of the community.

Mental Health Tribunals are the forum when a persons detention can be checked to see if it still lawful and appropriate. Free Legal Aid is available to cover the cost of the patient's representation at these Tribunals.

Floyd Porter, who is a member of the Law Society's Mental Health Panel, currently leads this busy team.

We provide representation for Patients and nearest relatives at Mental Health Review Tribunals and attend at Managers' Meetings in respect of Patients detained under the provisions of the Mental Health Act.

We also advise on treatment in Hospital and post-discharge care provision.

We act for clients right across the UK.

Floyd Porter is a member of the Mental Health Lawyers Association national committee..

Floyd also conducts a number of Judicial Review cases arising out of his work.
